Philosophy of Care

Dr. Kucejko's philosophy of care is that all patients deserve the highest quality of expert care regardless of situation.  Diseases of the colon and rectum can be life-altering, regardless of their severity, and typically require life-long follow up.  Dr. Kucejko aims to provide care both to the patient and to all of their personal support group in order to maximize the chance of improving quality of life, and maintaining the best possible health of the patient.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Kucejko is a fellowship-trained colorectal surgeon who cares for patients with a variety of conditions, both benign and malignant, of the colon, rectum and anus.  He has a special interest in the complex management and lifelong care of patients with inflammatory bowel disease.  He also has a special interest in advanced endoscopy and organ preservation modalities when treating colon and rectal cancer.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Kucejko's research focuses on improving patient outcomes in colorectal disease through advocacy and public health initiatives.  He feels disease prevention and early treatment has the best chance to improve the health of patients nationwide and save taxpayer dollars.  His research focuses on the best way to do this, assuring as many patients as possible have access to healthcare before complications arise, typically later in the disease process.
