The UC Davis Office of Medical Education (OME) leads the School of Medicine in education administration, providing management and oversight to all functions of the medical school. Outreach and administration of undergraduate medical education is coordinated centrally through the Office of Medical Education, while graduate medical education is primarily administered directly by the department. The Office of Medical Education works closely with and provides policy and procedural expertise to School of Medicine departments in coordinating faculty teaching of undergraduate courses, and the administration of the department’s clerkship, residency and fellowship programs.

There are five primary sections in the Office of Medical Education:

Where to Start:

  • Meet with your department financial analyst to understand faculty teaching assignment and funding processes.
  • Meet with your graduate medical education administrator to get an overview of the department’s procedures and culture.
  • Review the accreditation requirements for your department’s program and find out when the next re-accreditation review will occur.
