We strongly advise early involvement of the Biostatistics Shared Resource in study planning. All proposals that come to the Cancer Center's Scientific Review Board are reviewed for statistical content (study design, analysis plan) and appropriate biostatistics support, and we are happy to assist with this planning.
For grant planning, please contact us at least 4-6 weeks before proposal is due so we can review the aims, preliminary results and methods, even if not in final form. We can then provide statistical sections including sample size and power, analysis methods, updated and targeted bio sketch, letter of support if needed and budget from our grants manager. We recommend a minimum of six weeks’ notice with more complex projects such as program projects, center applications and multi-site trials. Please allow for more time if you also need analysis of preliminary data.
