Joshua Schulman

Joshua Schulman, MD, is a board-certified dermatologist and dermatopathologist, who provides both compassionate clinical care and interpretation of skin biopsy specimens. He is the Director of Dermatopathology and the Assistant Chief of Dermatology for the VA Northern California Health Care System. Dr. Schulman is a graduate of Harvard Medical School and completed his residency and fellowship training at the University of California, San Francisco. His research has included discovering the genetic cause for a hereditary skin cancer syndrome and new insights into how the immune system influences the spread of metastatic skin cancer. Dr. Schulman is passionately committed to training the next generation of physicians. He has received awards as Volunteer Faculty Teacher of the Year from the UC Davis Departments of Dermatology (2017, 2021) and Pathology (2016, 2021). He is a former president of the Sacramento Valley Dermatology Society.
