Chemical Peels

Chemical peel being applied to the face (c) UC Regents. All rights reserved.A chemical peel makes the skin on your face, neck and hands look more youthful. Your dermatologist applies a chemical solution that causes damaged skin layers to shed or peel off. You’re left with a more vibrant, refreshed look because the underlying healthy skin is more visible.

Chemical peels can help treat conditions including:

  • Acne
  • Actinic keratosis (precancerous growths)
  • Age spots
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Wrinkles

Botulinum Toxin Injections

Botulinum toxin injections are precisely administered to temporarily relax targeted facial muscles. This relaxation smooths the overlying skin, reducing wrinkles and giving your face a refreshed, more youthful appearance. Your dermatologist uses a thin needle to inject safe, small amounts of toxin into the muscle under the skin. We offer a range of injectables, including Botox® and Dysport®.

These treatments can diminish:

  • Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes)
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Frown lines between eyebrows
  • Marionette lines (lines around the mouth)
  • Sagging neck skin (sometimes called turkey neck)

Dermal Fillers

As we age, our skin naturally loses fullness and elasticity, leading to fine lines and wrinkles. Dermal fillers can restore volume and smooth these lines when injected into areas such as the face, lips or hands. They can also help fill sunken scars caused by severe acne or chickenpox. Dermal fillers are made from naturally occurring substances, such as hyaluronic acid, and some can even stimulate your body’s collagen production, which helps maintain skin elasticity. Your dermatologist works with you to determine the most suitable filler for your individual needs.

We offer dermal fillers, including:

  • Juvederm®
  • Radiesse®
  • Restylane®
  • Sculptra®

Laser Hair Removal

Laser underarm hair removal (c) UC Regents. All rights reserved.Laser hair removal uses concentrated beams of light to target and destroy hair follicles, reducing or stopping hair growth. Depending on the area being treated, multiple sessions over several weeks or months may be necessary, and occasional maintenance treatments might be needed as new hair grows.

We use the latest laser technology to remove hair from the:

  • Back
  • Bikini area
  • Face, including upper lip and chin
  • Legs
  • Neck
  • Underarms

Laser Skin Resurfacing

During laser skin resurfacing, your dermatologist uses a specialized laser to remove the outer layers of damaged skin, allowing newer, healthier skin cells to surface. This process helps your skin look smoother, tighter and more youthful. We utilize the latest laser technology to ensure precise, effective results.

Your physician may recommend this therapy for:

  • Age spots
  • Precancerous skin growths (actinic keratosis)
  • Scars
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Wrinkles or loose, saggy skin

Sclerotherapy

We use sclerotherapy to treat visible blood vessels, known as telangiectasias. These are common on the legs and appear as thin red or purple lines beneath the skin’s surface. Your dermatologist uses precise injections to shrink the affected blood vessels, making them less noticeable. Multiple treatments may be needed to achieve optimal results.

Skin Tag Removal

Skin tags on a person (c) UC Regents. All rights reserved.Skin tags are small, fleshy growths that hang from the skin. They can appear anywhere on the body but are most commonly found on the neck, armpits and groin. While skin tags are not cancerous, they can be irritating or unsightly, especially if they rub against clothing.

To remove a bothersome skin tag, your dermatologist may:

  • Freeze it with liquid nitrogen (cryotherapy)
  • Surgically remove it with scissors or a scalpel
  • Burn it with high-frequency electrical energy (electrosurgery)
