FEATURED PROJECTS

Central Utility Plant Expansion

The expansion and modernization of the CUP will reduce UC Davis Health’s emissions by 60%.

Rendering of the Central Utility Plant Expansion

The Central Utility Plant Expansion project will expand the capabilities of the campus to serve the new California Tower and prepare for additional upcoming growth. This project will include nearly 2,000 linear feet of electrical pathway and chilled and heating hot water. The existing Central Plant will renovate approximately 9,000 gross square feet, including replacing the new chiller, expanding the control room and adding new administration spaces. A new building, the CUP Annex building, approximately 40,000 gross square feet will house new utilities.

The project will be developed in a series of projects — a Make Ready Project that will include creating a new roadway to connect PS6 with 2nd Ave, setting up the project site for the CUP Annex building and the campus site infrastructure.

The project is currently in Program Validation, moving into Schematic Design. The Make Ready scope will be going to UC Regents for approval in January of 2024, with the entire project in July of 2024.
