This project opened a new neurospecialties and epilepsy monitoring unit to support diagnosing, treating and researching brain conditions, especially epilepsy and other conditions which cause patient seizures.
The project renovated 10,000 square feet of space within the seventh floor of the East Wing. The scope of the project includes the delivery of 11 patient rooms with 20 new beds, patient bathrooms and showers, employee lockers, restrooms, a staff break room, a medication and nourishment room, two storage rooms, equipment cleaning rooms and a new nurse station. Physician and technician reading and monitoring rooms were constructed along with three offices. The project also included the installation of Natus and Phillips patient monitoring equipment which provides 24/7 real time neuro monitoring for Epileptologists, Neurosurgeons, technicians and nursing staff.
Construction completed Nov. 6, 2023 and the unit opened to first patients on Dec. 6, 2023.
