Philosophy of Care

Dr. Macres' philosophy of care is the mitigation of acute perioperative pain utilizing a biopsychosocial model. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Macres is currently the Director of the Anesthesia Acute Pain Service.His professional interests have always focused on improving patient outcomes through the judicious application of multimodal, opioid sparing analgesia, with an emphasis on site specific regional anesthesia techniques. Dr. Macres is actively involved in continuing medical education and is the director of the Annual UCD Anesthesiology Review Course and POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) workshop.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Macres is actively involved in continuing medical education and is the director of the Annual UCD Anesthesiology Review Course and POCUS (Point of Care Ultrasound) workshop. Dr. Macres has also  presented Problem Based Learning discussions (PBLD's), workshops and poster sessions at the Annual American Society of Regional Anesthesia (ASRA) meetings.
