Dr. Zhao believes in developing a strong patient physician relationship and understanding each person's unique goals and desires. Through this he hopes to enable each patient to patient empowered in their fight against cancer. He has the privilege of working with excellent staff that will also assist throughout the course of radiation therapy.
Dr. Zhao has a passion to help patients in their fight against cancer both through clinical and technical expertise as well as caring for each person's individual needs. Beyond work, Dr. Zhao remains an active member in his community. He enjoys spending time with his wife and children, staying active, basketball, movies, dining around town and following his favorite sports teams.
Dr. Zhao's primary research interests focus on improving patient experience and outcomes in the field of radiation oncology, specifically brachytherapy. He is passionate about developing ways to apply the advanced techniques and technology available at UC Davis to more rural and remote places in the world.
