I chose to specialize in internal medicine because it enables me to focus on the big picture, to treat the whole person, and yet it challenges me to look at the details. It gives me the opportunity to work with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds and treat a broad spectrum of medical diseases. My philosophy of care is to treat my patients as I would my own family. I believe in establishing a good physician-patient relationship based on open communication, honesty and trust. I encourage my patients to take an active role in their health and the promotion of a healthy, balanced lifestyle, including diet, exercise and stress reduction. I like to emphasize the importance of health education and prevention for a healthy and happy life.
