Neuroradiology and Interventional Neuroradiology
Mission Statement and Overview
Our mission is to help improve the health and well-being of our patients. Our goals are to provide the most diagnostically accurate assessment of the central nervous system, to advance the science of imaging in its clinical application, and to educate students, residents, fellows, and fellow practitioners.
We work closely with the departments of Neurology, Otolaryngology, Ophthalmology, and Neurologic and Orthopedic Surgery, to provide a multidisciplinary approach for our patients. We strive to provide cutting edge diagnostic imaging, tailored for specific diseases and disorders, in partnership with our fellow clinicians. We use a broad range of standard imaging modalities, including CT, MRI, and PET. We also utilize many advanced imaging techniques, including MR Perfusion, MR Spectroscopy, and DTI, both to improve diagnostic accuracy and to help determine new applications for these technologies.
Our Team
Our section consists of 8 diagnostic neuroradiologists, all of whom practice solely in the area of neuroradiology, and are subspecialty trained and certified in the assessment of diseases and injuries of the brain, neck, and spine. Our section also includes two dedicated neurointerventionalists, who are both subspecialty trained in the treatment of vascular diseases of the brain, neck, and spine. Their expertise spans from minimally invasive, endovascular treatment of aneurysms and vascular malformations in the brain, to image guided spinal biopsies. Our interventional team also performs basic and advanced pain procedures involving the spine and other parts of the body, including nerve blocks.
Our group is committed to our clinical practice, interpreting studies aimed at examining a wide array of neurologic problems in children and adults. We are also dedicated scientists, working to advance imaging techniques as well as the understanding of specific disease processes.
