
Kidney dysfunction is a common side effect of cancer therapy. As we have more therapeutic options, a patient with cancer may experience some “organ” toxicity – such as kidney disease. Also, people with kidney disease from other causes can get cancer. In this clinic we provide specialized guidance to protect kidney health. We also manage new kidney problems that may emerge as patients are undergoing cancer therapies.
What kind of conditions are treated?
Dr. Anand trained at Washington University School of Medicine, Brigham and Women’s Hospital (Harvard Medical School), and Stanford University. She served as faculty at Stanford University School of Medicine for 15 years before moving to UC Davis. She is part of the leadership for this field of medicine and serves on the Position Statement Committee and was the founding board member of American Society of Onconephrology.
