UC Davis Suspicion of Cancer Clinic
Suspicion of Cancer clinic is a unique program that was established in 2022 to facilitate care for patients with a suspected, but not confirmed, malignancy. The clinic evaluates test results that may signal cancer, as well as pain and other symptoms.
The Suspicion of Cancer clinic is staffed by internal medicine physicians Erin M. Noren (director) and Santiago Lombo-Luque.

Services
- Access to state-of-the-art radiology, laboratory, and pathology services
- Increased patient access to the cancer specialists at the cancer center
- Access to specialty tumor boards, which hold meetings to assess cases, confirm diagnoses and offer treatment options
- Chronic medical condition management
- Pain management services
- Direct referrals to oncology specialists for treatment when indicated
Common Referring Diagnoses
- Abnormal Imaging test (CT, MRI, ultrasound or X-ray) suggesting a possible malignancy
- Liver lesions
- Lung nodules
- Lymphadenopathy
- Bone lesions
- Breast mass
- Abnormal blood counts
- Abnormal bone marrow findings on imaging
- Elevated tumor marker(s)
Referrals
Patients are referred from:
- Primary care physicians within and outside of the UC Davis Health Primary Care network
- UC Davis Emergency Department
- UC Davis Medical Center
