The Affiliate Scholar Award of Excellence celebrates scholars who contribute to research, policy, clinical care, and community outreach at UC Davis Comprehensive Cancer Center. This award recognizes scholars who exemplify:
- Teamwork and collaboration
- Empathy and resilience
- Dedication to growth
Award Benefits:

- $500 prize for travel, professional development, or education
- Mentors of awardees also receive recognition

Open to undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral UC Davis Affiliate Scholars.
(Three awards per year – one per academic level.)
Award nominees should demonstrate excellence through one or more of the following:
📌 Research & Professional Growth
- High productivity: publications, presentations, funding, awards
- Development of new programs or technologies
- Innovation and impact in research, policy, or community
🤝 Leadership and Community Engagement
- Commitment to teamwork and collaboration
- Service, mentoring, and teaching
- Public engagement and communication outside academia
📩 Nominations are by faculty only (mentors, advisors, or collaborators).
- Submit a standard nomination form outlining the nominee’s excellence
- Highlight their achievements and contributions
