Support for Caregivers

Support for caregiver

Caregivers are an essential part of a cancer journey and they can face their own difficulties and hardships. It is common for caregivers to experience fatigue, stress, depression, anxiety, fear and/or hopelessness. Physical changes such as headaches, pain and weight changes can occur as well.

Caregiving often impacts daily life and may include:

  • Missing time at work
  • Sacrificing financially
  • Juggling responsibilities
  • Losing leisure time and social relationships
  • Dealing with isolation

Caregivers deserve their own support to stay healthy and be able to manage caring for a person going through cancer treatments.

A number of caregiver support groups(within the Cancer Tab on the page) meet in and around the Sacramento area that can help you manage and deal with the  stress of being a caregiver. Additionally, there are a number of online resources that you may find helpful.
