New Clinical Note-Taking Technology To Improve Your Care

Helping Us Focus On You

At UC Davis Health, we are always looking for ways to provide better care. That’s why your clinician is using Abridge, a new technology that allows them to focus more on you and your health needs.

How does Abridge benefit me?

During a typical office visit, your clinician must enter notes and other information into a computer to update your medical record.

This new service frees your clinician from data entry during your visit, meaning you get more focused attention from your clinician.

How does Abridge work?

  • Abridge records your conversation with your clinician during the visit.
  • It then creates a summary using artificial intelligence (AI).
  • After your visit, your clinician reviews the summary for accuracy, and adds it to your medical record.

Will our conversation be kept private and secure?

Your security and privacy are our top priorities.

  • Abridge is HIPAA-compliant.
  • All data is encrypted.
  • Only your care team or authorized personnel have access to your information.
  • All recordings are deleted after 30 days.

Will Abridge be continuously recording?

The recording will be started, stopped, and paused by your clinician.

They can pause the recording if you would rather that certain parts of the conversation not be recorded.

Do I have a choice about whether my clinician uses Abridge?

Yes. If you do not want your clinician to use Abridge, just let them know. Your care will not be affected.

What if I have other questions?

Please speak with your clinician before, during, or after your visit.
