Dr. Caspar has received several awards for excellence in clinical care and is among the highest-rated eye surgeons by patients in the Sacramento area. 

Clinical Interests

Dr. Caspar is a Comprehensive Ophthalmologist who specializes in advanced, small-incision cataract surgery using the latest technologies, including laser cataract surgery, multifocal and astigmatism-correcting lens implants, to provide the best possible outcomes, particularly in complex cases. He also specializes in laser vision correction, including custom and conventional LASIK and PRK.

Dr. Caspar teaches cataract surgery locally, nationally and internationally, working with organizations such as ORBIS and Liga international. 

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Caspar is involved in research on cataract surgery after refractive surgery and new techniques for cataract extraction.

He serves as the director of Cataract and Refractive Surgery at the UC Davis Eye Center.
