Philosophy of Care

I see patients as persons with specific problems, not as diseases.

I listen carefully to the person's concerns, and I am committed to finding the best treatment options.

I spend time educating patients as the best way for mutual understanding.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Lado is an endocrinologist offering care for adults with various endocrine (hormonal) conditions such as diabetes mellitus, low testosterone, thyroid, pituitary, and adrenal glands clinical problems. He has particular interest and expertise in thyroid axes problems and diabetes mellitus. He is very fluent in Spanish.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Lado's research focuses on the mechanisms involved in the hormonal changes during severe illness and on the role of hormonal replacement in sick persons.

Dr. Lado believes that education is the way to personal freedom and has a particular interest in teaching students, residents, and fellows and mentoring young faculty physicians within the Division of Endocrinology, Diabetes, and Metabolism.
