Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Anderson's research focuses on small nanovesicles, called exosomes, which cells use to communicate with each other. Part of his work focuses on how cancer stem cells use exosomes to induce tumor recurrence and metastases. Dr. Anderson also investigates how certain stem cells utilize exosomes to regenerate and heal damaged tissue. This work indicates that concentrated doses of exosomes that have been purified from stem cells could be a potent and novel way to treat various inflammation-associated diseases. This work spans the fields of oncology, radiology, wound healing and neuroinflammatory diseases.
