The UC Davis Women’s Imaging Fellowship is a 12-month program providing advanced training in abdominal and breast imaging. The fellowship is divided equally between the two subspecialties, with six months dedicated to high-volume cross-sectional body imaging and six months to comprehensive multimodality breast imaging and care. By bringing these complementary areas together in one program, the fellowship provides the breadth of training needed for a career that encompasses both fields.

Program Highlights:

  • Balanced dual subspecialty mastery
  • Advanced multi-modality diagnostics
  • Multidisciplinary tumor boards and collaboration
  • Teaching and academic opportunities
  • Exceptional career marketability

Curriculum

Fellows spend six months in abdominal imaging and six months in breast imaging, developing complementary expertise across the two subspecialties.

The abdominal imaging curriculum includes:

  • Abdominal and pelvic MRI
  • Abdominal and pelvic CT
  • Ultrasound

Fellows experience a high volume and rich diversity of cross-sectional body imaging, encountering a broad spectrum of complex pathology across CT and MRI. Ultrasound training is comprehensive including Transplant and Obstetric ultrasounds.

During the six-month breast imaging curriculum, fellows receive comprehensive training in:

  • Digital mammography
  • Congrast-enhanced mammography
  • Digital breast tomosynthesis
  • Breast ultrasound
  • Breast MRI
  • Image-guided breast procedures using mammography, ultrasound and MRI

Fellows work closely with breast imaging faculty and participate in monthly multidisciplinary tumor board and radiology-pathology correlation conferences. These experiences provide opportunities to connect imaging findings with pathology, treatment planning and patient care.

Throughout the year, fellows gain progressively independent experience in image interpretation, clinical consultation and image-guided procedures under faculty supervision.

To apply, please submit the following materials to the UC Davis Radiology Fellowship Applicant Portal.

  • Current CV
  • Three letters of recommendation (including one from the director of your radiology residency program)
  • USMLE transcripts
  • Personal statement
