Reflecting the Program and Learner Outcome Objectives, the curriculum includes three horizontal threads (Teaching/Learning, Educational Scholarship, and Leadership) along with two vertical threads (Interprofessionalism and Cognitive Diversity, Inclusion & Health Equity). The horizontal threads serve as major areas of curricular content that will be included over the course of the program. Content related the vertical threads is integrated within each of the horizontal content areas.

ITSP Curricular Implementation Plan Summary

Year 1

Quarter 1

Emphasis on foundational knowledge that will inform the development of Scholars’ scholarly projects, such as curriculum development, learner-centered education, program evaluation, interprofessional education, diversity and inclusion in education, and planning for ultimate dissemination of scholarly work.

Quarter 2

Emphasis on teaching and learning strategies and approaches (e.g. concrete teaching skills, remediation, feedback, mentoring). Scholars will develop their project proposals during this quarter.

Quarter 3

Emphasis on educational scholarship dissemination and actively applying teaching skills, career development, and  leadership for educators. Scholars present their project proposals and begin implementation of their projects.

Year 2

Scholars will meet quarterly with program leaders to give progress reports on their scholarly project. They will continue to receive mentoring and assistance with problem solving on their projects with goal of ultimate dissemination (ideally publication).
