Philosophy of Care
Dr. Thorpe strives to provide compassionate, evidence based care to all patients and their families. He works closely with a multidisciplinary team to provide expert coordinated care to patients with sarcoma and other tumors of the musculoskeletal system.
Clinical Interests
Dr. Thorpe is a fellowship trained musculoskeletal oncologist with expertise in bone and soft tissue sarcomas in both adult and pediatric patients. He specializes in limb sparing resections and reconstructions for bone and soft tissue sarcomas of the extremities.
He also has expertise in the surgical management of metastatic bone tumors and benign bone and soft tissue tumors. Dr. Thorpe has particular interest in pediatric limb salvage procedures and surgical resections for malignant sarcoma of the pelvis.
Research/Academic Interests
Outcomes and innovations in limb sparing surgery for treatment of bone and soft tissue sarcoma. Outcomes and innovations in pelvic resections and reconstruction for sarcoma of the pelvis. Determination of role of cancer stem cells in the propagation and development of metastases and relapse in bone and soft tissue sarcoma.
