I aspire to treat the whole patient, not just the disease. I think it is important to consider the patient's beliefs and goals of care and come to a mutually agreeable decision on the best course of action. There is a such an emotional aspect to cancer care, and I aim to treat this aspect with just as much importance as the musculoskeletal ramifications. My goal is to treat every patient as if they were my own family member.
Dr. Brown is a fellowship trained orthopaedic oncologist, specializing in surgical treatment of both benign and malignant conditions of the musculoskeletal system. This includes bone and soft tissue sarcoma, metastatic bone disease, pediatric bone tumors, as well as benign soft tissue and bone lesions.
As a former NIH T32 scholar, Dr. Brown has made significant contributions to the field through her extensive publications on topics such as limb salvage endoprosthetic longevity and survival and periprosthetic joint infection. She also has research interests in cartilage tumors, and circulating tumor DNA, and is dedicated to resident education and curriculum development.
