Dr. Maverakis is an award winning dermatologist at the University of California, Davis. His NIH-funded laboratory is focused on understanding the pathophysiology of autoimmunity. In clinic he sees patients with immune mediated diseases involving the skin and patients with in-transit or cutaneous melanoma metastases. Dr. Maverakis is a recipient of career awards from the Burroughs Wellcome Fund and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute. He is also the recipient of an NIH Director’s New Innovator Award.
