I am an Immunologist and Virologist whose research focuses on mucosal immunity in chronic HIV infection. Our lab studies the relationship between mucosal T-cell responses and control of HIV infection, including the role of regulatory T-cells (Treg), immune reconstitution in people with HIV on antiretroviral therapy, and mucosa-associated invariant T-cells (MAIT cells). We have also studied the female reproductive tract, hormonal regulation of immune responses, and the impact of cytomegalovirus (CMV) coinfection on HIV disease.
