infusionThe adult infusion centers are here to serve our outpatient population. Our infusion areas offer chemotherapy, blood transfusions, intravenous fluid and drug therapies, therapeutic phlebotomies, and central line management. Services are by appointment only.

Each area is staffed by registered nurses with additional knowledge of adult cancers and other illnesses, including Crohn's disease, rheumatoid arthritis, multiple sclerosis, chronic pain, sickle cell disease and genetic disorders. These nurses specialize in infusion therapy, and many carry the distinction of being an oncology certified nurse, a nationally recognized certification. Our support staff helps with scheduling, telephones and insurance authorizations.

Parking is located beside the Cancer Center on 45th Street and is free with a validation at the infusion center. Free parking is available at Placer Center for Health.

Food is permitted at our centers. You are welcome to bring food from home or send your visitor to purchase something for you to enjoy at one of the many local restaurants and fast food establishments nearby.  The locations of cafeterias, snack machines, and other amenities near the cancer center can be found by visiting our Food, lodging and amenities page. Cell phones are allowed on a limited basis only.  Many patients choose to rest, and a peaceful environment is promoted for all patients. Please keep noise at a minimum level out of respect for other patients. Texting is permitted at all times on the silent setting. Patients may bring DVD players, MP3 or iPod devices, or laptops to help pass the time. Wireless service is available to guests. All sites have DVD players and movies to loan as well as magazines. We will provide headphones to limit distractions to other patients choosing to rest.

Each patient is welcome to bring ONE visitor to the infusion room during their treatment. Space is limited. Visitors must be over 13 years of age. No children or infants are allowed. Patients and visitors must not have any contagious illness. Most of our patients are very susceptible to infections. We ask that you please not come to the infusion room if you are ill with anything that might be contagious. Please notify your physician of your illness and call us to reschedule your appointment. We encourage family members to participate in patient treatment. With certain medications, we may request a responsible adult stay for the duration of treatment in case the patient requires a ride home.

Your well-being and safety are our number-one priority, and we want your experience to be outstanding. Please ask to speak with either the charge nurse or nursing management if you have any special needs or concerns.
