Our Research
Our broad research portfolio spans most areas of neurology and many areas of fundamental neuroscience. Our faculty participate in a range of research and clinical centers. They are a core part of the community of more than 300 faculty conducting neuroscience research at UC Davis.

Fifty neurology faculty lead as principle investigators in research, and we have been in the top 10 departments funded by the NIH for several years (now 8th), with more than 30 clinical trials, more than 120 active grants, and more than $40 million per year in funding (direct costs). With fewer faculty than other leading programs, our research success per faculty leads Neurology Departments in the United States.
The Department of Neurology engages in various aspects of neuorscience research, collaborating with interdisciplinary research centers at UC Davis and other institutions.
