I consider it a great privilege to take care of patients and their families. I strive not only to provide excellent medical care, but also to help patients and families understand their medical situation, to assist them in making the right decisions for themselves, and to support them throughout their medical journey.
Dr. Rinderknecht is a general surgeon specialized in trauma surgery, emergency general surgery, and critical care (ICU care) of surgical patients. She has particular clinical interests in complex polytrauma and biliary disease.
Dr. Rinderknecht's academic interests include using human-centered design principles to improve surgical care and patient experience. She also has interest in using design to improve surgical care in resource-poor environments. She works with other physicians at UC Davis to study the incorporation of tele-medicine into trauma care.
