Philosophy of Care

I approach each patient interaction as if they were a member of my family. I am up front and honest with expectations on the results of the operation, the most common complications and expected recovery. I make myself available to the patient and family before and after the operation to ensure I answer all their questions. As I get to know my patients, we often discuss family/life in follow-up in addition to their medical problems.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Heafner is a board certified Vascular Surgeon who treats patients with a variety of vascular conditions including cerebrovascular disease, peripheral arterial disease, thoracic and abdominal aneurysms and traumatic injuries. He has a clinical interest in complex aortic aneurysms and trained under Dr. Gustovo Oderich in complex endovascular aneurysm repairs. He assists in the planning and execution of these fenestrated and branched endovascular repairs at UCD.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Heafner has a focus towards minimally invasive endovascular surgical procedures. He stays on the cutting edge of technology to provide patient's with the safest and most durable procedures possible.
