Dr. Phan's primary clinical practice focuses on the care of critically injured and emergency surgery patients. His other interests include abdominal wall reconstruction and anterior spine exposure.

Dr. Phan's academic interests include surgical education, particularly medical student education and outcomes in Trauma and Acute Care Surgery.
