Philosophy of Care

Dr. Romanowski strives to provide comprehensive burn care from injury through reconstruction. She believes that while burn injury is life changing, people can recover from their injuries to lead happy and productive lives.

Clinical Interests

Dr. Romanowski is a Burn Surgeon who cares for burn injured patients throughout the continuum of care. She specializes in both surgical and critical care of acute burn injuries as well as burn reconstruction. She is trained to use a variety of dermal substitutes as well as Cultured Epithelial Autografts and Cell Suspension Autografts. She also has experience with both pulse dye and carbon dioxide lasers.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Romanowski’s research focuses on improving outcomes for burn patients by addressing disparities in care. Her current focus includes improving the care of older adult burn patients through measuring and finding ways to treat or prevent frailty. She is also examining ways to improve follow up care for the most vulnerable patients.
