Philosophy of Care

I believe in empowering patients through knowledge. I understand that the soundest medical decisions a patient can make are those made with understanding, trust, and adequate time. My modus operandi can be described as "less is more.”

Clinical Interests

Dr. Li is a plastic surgery-trained hand and microsurgeon offering care for patients with common hand maladies such as carpal tunnel syndrome, trigger finger, hand and wrist arthritis, as well as more acute hand trauma such as fractures and dislocations of the wrist and hand, nerve and tendon injuries. Furthermore, he provides care in upper and lower extremity reconstruction, including microsurgery. He has special clinical interest in peripheral nerve injuries and repair.

Research/Academic Interests

Dr. Li's research has focused on improving recovery following peripheral nerve injuries, including nerve conduit design. He current research focus at UC Davis applies nanotechnology to model peripheral nerve injuries and investigate effective interventions with more efficiency.
