2020 commencement ceremony update

Every year we eagerly await assembling for this time-honored June tradition. However, this unprecedented moment prompted necessary adaptation. While some believe the COVID-19 pandemic will subside in a matter of months, given the rapid and evolving nature of the virus, the risk is too great to gather in numbers so soon.

In coordination with state and local agencies, the UC Davis Office of the Chancellor decided to postpone this year’s in-person undergraduate and graduate commencement ceremonies from June 2020 to late 2020. Further details will be forthcoming as the situation evolves.

Even though the official ceremony may be postponed, you are about to become a UC Davis graduate, and nothing can take that away from you. In the meantime, until we can gather together in person, we hope you will join us this June for an enthusiastic online celebration recognizing the tremendous accomplishments of the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis Classes of 2019 and 2020.

2020 Virtual Celebration

The School of Nursing is proud of the achievements of our graduate physician assistant, nurse, family nurse practitioner, nurse leadership and doctoral classes and we want to help memorialize them!

The School of Nursing will launch a virtual celebration June 11 that features remarks from

  • Chancellor Gary S. May
  • Dean Stephen J. Cavanagh
  • Student-nominated speakers
  • Graduate-degree program directors

The website also includes profiles of individual graduates that highlights their accomplishments and degrees earned. The profiles include photos, a professional reading of names, as well as quotes from the graduates.

Watch this page for the link to the celebration beginning at 10 a.m. June 11.
