The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing offers faculty members training and resources that exemplify our mission, vision and core values. The Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing faculty members have access to a variety of both digital and in-person offerings, including teaching and clinical education resources, research & scholarship opportunities and interprofessional and community events.
School of Nursing Faculty Development partners with the UC Davis Health Faculty and Professional Development Program in the Office of Academic Personnel. Additional resources can be found on the Faculty and Professional Development website.
Faculty Canvas portal
Faculty have the ability to access faculty content and create their own pages through the Faculty Professional Development Canvas Portal. Visit the portal to review published modules, online resources and academic links. The Canvas portal also includes information on faculty onboarding orientation for new hires.
Teaching and educational excellence
School of Nursing offers quarterly sessions covering various topics, including leadership, education, health equity and diversity and inclusion.

Teaching Scholar Certificate Series

Scholarship of Teaching and Learning
Scholarship of teaching and learning is practice-based research toward improvement in teaching and student learning. The Center for Educational Effectiveness facilitates a number of events to help support the growing discourse community of SoTL researchers at UC Davis. Learn more
School of Nursing Professional Development Summit 2024
The Summit offers faculty the opportunity to gather in community and participate in educational sessions to further develop and enhance diverse roles at the School of Nursing. This training takes place each September annually and will be held in 2024 on September 23-24.

Growing As A Community Webinar Series
The Office for Health Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (OHEDI) and its collaborating partners created the Growing as a Community webinar series to focus on the important issues of structural racism, strategies and techniques for questioning and interrupting discrimination, ways to help build healthier and safer inclusive communities, and how to heal during these challenging times. OHEDI, in coordination with the Office of Continuing Medical Education, offers a four-part hybrid (online and in class) training for SEED: Supporting Educational Excellence in Diversity. Learn more
