Kat Lambert provides administrative support to faculty members at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Their duties include high-level leadership support and providing exceptional customer service to the diverse group of staff, students and visitors at the School of Nursing. Lambert moved to California to Atlanta, Ga., where they provided operational and administrative support to the sales teams and executive leaders at Nolan Transportation Group. They also held a position providing administrative support to the director of development for the Georgia State University Foundation. Most recently, Lambert provided administrative support for leaders in the Ambulatory Care department at UC Davis Health. Lambert attended Georgia State University in Atlanta, Ga., where they completed a dual bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Film.

Prior to joining the School of Nursing, she served as executive assistant to leaders in the UC Davis School of Medicine Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. She also supported the Neurology and Neurological Surgery departments.

Gil Lorenzo is the Assistant Director of Operations at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Prior to joining UC Davis, Lorenzo worked at UCSF for over 15 years in various roles in project management, finance and marketing. Lorenzo has a bachelor's degree in organizational leadership from Arizona State University and a graduate certificate in strategic leadership and management from the Gies College of Business at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. He is also a Gallup-Certified Strengths Coach.

Jyotika Pande is a finance analyst at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Pande graduated from California State University, East Bay with a Masters in Business Administration with a dual concentration in Finance and Analytics for Managers. She was also academically honored as a University Honors Program recipient. Prior to UC Davis, she worked in accounting and investments at a state agency providing financial analysis, research and reporting and accounting support.

Stephanie Nyswonger is a finance and operations analyst at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. She provides financial reporting, analysis and planning recommendations to the finance and operations manager. She also provides support for and oversees academic payroll, account reconciliation, procurement, contract management, event and travel processing. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Nyswonger worked in the dean’s office of the UC Davis School of Veterinary Medicine, where she provided financial reporting, analysis and planning recommendations to the budget analyst and fiscal officer. Nyswonger earned a bachelor’s degree in business management from Evangel University.

Joanna Garcia is a project policy analyst at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis.  She works with leadership on a variety of projects that support program goals across multiple areas of the School of Nursing, including education, academics as well as health equity, diversity and inclusion.  Joanna has extensive experience in higher education at UC Davis. She began her UC Davis path coordinating fourth-year elective courses and continuing medical education conferences for the Division of Cardiovascular Medicine.  She then joined the Office of Medical Education at the School of Medicine as a doctoring program coordinator for several years before switching gears to medical school admissions. At the Office of Admissions, she served as admissions coordinator then later, as admissions manager overseeing the medical school admissions process.  Prior to UC Davis she worked in state and local government agencies and studied social work at CSU Sacramento.

As Director of New Educational Initiatives at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Stacey Pasco works closely with Assistant Dean for Education Lisa Badovinac and the leadership team to strategize, design and implement new programs for academic and workforce audiences. In her previous role as chief of staff in the dean’s office, she developed long-range strategic plans and policies for the school and cultivated external partnerships. Before joining UC Davis, Pasco was a senior program associate at the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), where she led local and national initiatives to engage citizens and communities in science and life-long learning. She earned a bachelor's degree in Journalism, specializing in Public Relations, and Political Science from California State University, Chico.

Keirsten Mihos is the Director of Academic Program Development at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Mihos joins the School of Nursing from UC Davis Continuing and Professional Education, where she served as director of Health Sciences and Education, managing a self-supporting master’s program and building a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate and a Public Health Certificate. Mihos earned her Master in Public Health from UC Davis.

Kate Turpin serves as the educational program designer for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. She works closely with the program directors and the leadership team to evaluate current graduate-degree program offerings, design new offerings to integrate hybrid and online courses and position current and future programs to be distinctive in nursing graduate education. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, she worked for four years at Adtalem Global Education, first as associate director of career services for DeVry University and then as dean for campus operations for Chamberlain University, assisting in launching a new Bachelor of Science in Nursing program in California. She also managed multistate career services for online and on-ground students, performing all aspects from student advising, career adviser management and accreditation reporting. Kate earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with an emphasis in Marketing from Fresno Pacific University and a master’s degree in Higher Education Administration specializing in Student Affairs from Kaplan University, now known as Purdue University Global.

Caroline Miller is a student affairs officer for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing focusing on student services, communication, milestones, outreach and recruitment. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Miller worked for UC Davis Extension, where she managed a portfolio of online education programs geared to professionals in the health professions. Before that, she was the student services coordinator for the Doctor of Nursing Practice program and the Postmaster's Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She also managed Experiential Learning for Master of Business Administration students at Presidio Graduate School in San Francisco, which focuses on sustainable management practices. Miller earned a Master of Business Administration from the University of San Diego and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from UC Davis.

As a registered nurse, she worked in internal medicine in Pittsburgh, Pa. and Lansing, Mich., as well as hospital medical surgical units. Jennifer Black is the education technology and operations specialist for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. As the education technology specialist, she is responsible for the administration and implementation of instructional technologies and serves as course coordinator for complex courses. As operations specialist, she builds the master academic calendar for all programs, coordinates program-wide planning meetings and is responsible for the logistics of the annual Academic Symposium. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Black served as the medical student course coordinator for the UC Davis School of Medicine Department of Pathology and Lab Medicine. Before coming to UC Davis, Black worked for 13 years at BloodSource, first as a blood donor recruiter specializing in platelet and plasma donation recruitment. She then transitioned to the role of medical department coordinator, providing support to the medical department and coordinating the medical education and international programs. Black earned a bachelor’s degree in Family and Consumer Sciences from California State University, Sacramento in 2004.

Teresa Coats is the clinical curriculum specialist at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. In this role, she is responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating clinical skills experiences, simulations, assessments, and operations for the MEPN, NP and PA programs. She has many years of experience in curriculum and research administration in higher education through various positions she has held since joining UC Davis in 2014. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, she worked at the School of Medicine at UC Davis as a program administrator and curriculum coordinator for the Office of Medical Education, as well as a grants and contracts administrative assistant for the Office of Research.

Desirée Lazo is a course coordinator with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. She has an educational background in library and information science as well as sociology. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Lazo served as the administrative research coordinator with the UC Davis School of Medicine Department of Radiology. She also worked as a research assistant and predoctoral coordinator for the Department of Family Medicine at UC Irvine. In addition to her experience with the UC System, Lazo also worked as a librarian, where she primarily aided students earning advanced degrees in fashion, interior and graphic design.

Christy Davis is the Director of Clinical Placement Operations and certified project management professional (PMP) at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Davis focuses on the design, development and implementation of databases to enhance clinical education operations and support accreditation. She also assists in the placement of students into clinical rotations and serves as a liaison between students and administration for the School of Nursing clinical programs. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Davis worked in the public health field where she gained a broad knowledge working as a health educator during her fellowship as a public health associate for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. She also worked in both the Sexually Transmitted Disease Control branch and Vector Borne and Veterinary Public Health Section at the California Department of Public Health. Davis earned a bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences and Community Health Education from California State University, Sacramento.

Celia Flores is a clinical compliance coordinator at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Flores also works with student services to ensure the best transition from school entry to clinical year. Prior to joining the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Flores worked in nursing education and also worked for a number of years in private education in the Sacramento area.

Hanh Herbert is a clinical affiliation coordinator at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Herbert assists in the placement of students into clinical rotations for the School of Nursing clinical programs and also serves as a liaison between students and administration. She also supports the development and implementation of community partner engagement efforts. Prior to joining the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Herbert worked at the Mouse Biology Program at UC Davis as a staff research associate in the Murine Genetic Engineering Laboratory. She also served as a research compliance analyst for the Research Compliance and Integrity unit at UC Davis with a focus on financial conflict of interest and coordination of the Responsible Conduct of Research program. Jason Sowa is the Director of Clinical Placement Outreach at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Sowa is responsible for managing student placement in clinical rotations, building relationships with community organizations and expanding the network of clinical sites. In September 2020, Sowa was promoted to clinical affiliations manager overseeing a small team assisting with student clinical placements.Prior to joining the School of Nursing team, he was director of student services, admissions and outreach for California Northstate University’s developing College of Medicine, where he assisted in creating policies and procedures for the medical student standards of the accreditation process, developed relationships with community organizations, established partnerships with area hospital organizations, and recruited physicians to teach in medical student clerkships. Jason Sowa earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in American Studies and History from Wayne State University in Detroit.

She also serves as a liaison between students, faculty, and administration.  Williams has many years of experience working in various settings within the healthcare field. Prior to joining the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing, Colleen worked in a large primary care practice in Sacramento serving as a Quality Improvement Manager with a focus on population health, delivery of quality care and HEDIS measures. She also has prior experience in Medical Billing and Patient Financial Clearance. Colleen earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Health Sciences from Grand Canyon University as well as an Associate’s Degree in Medical Billing and Coding from the University of Arkansas Grantham.

Tami Lewis is the Assistant Director of Human Resources at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and is responsible for the overall supervision and oversight of the school's human resources programs and processes. She also manages academic personnel and oversees the administrative operations for the School of Nursing, including the development of office policies and procedures. Prior to joining the school, Lewis worked as the employment services manager for California State University at Sacramento (CSUS) managing all staff, student and temporary recruitment and hiring processes. She also worked as a human resources manager for organizations such as Golden 1 Credit Union, Sacramento Coca-Cola Bottling Co., Inc. and Golden Gate Fields managing several functions including payroll, benefits, recruitment, employee labor relations and workers’ compensation. Additionally, she has experience as a project manager for human resources and payroll system conversions. Lewis also worked previously for the UC Davis Department of Neurology providing operational oversight of three Alzheimer’s disease research projects and as the human resources manager for the UC Berkeley Department of Molecular and Cell Biology.

Jimilynn Dorough serves as the managing senior director of development at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. She is responsible for the overall management of the school's development activities, include developing and executing a major gifts program, and oversees the school’s development programs and events, building the endowment portfolio and leading volunteer boards. Dorough has over 27 years of experience in higher education development. Her most recent development experience was serving as the Regional Director of the Northwest for University Advancement at Rochester Institute of Technology. Dorough has also served a consultant for the University of Guam and spent many years in various development roles at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, Ca. Dorough is a proud alumna of UC Davis with a Bachelor of Science in Political Science.

Anna Schoener is the development analyst for the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. In that role, she provides high-level programmatic, analytical and research support for fundraising administration. She also monitors and analyzes program activity to determine donor and area fundraising strategies. Schoener brings more than six years of involvement in development and customer relationship management experience through the fitness industry. She earned a Bachelor of Arts in Humanities and Religious Studies from California State University-Sacramento, where she also served as team captain for the Division 1 volleyball program.

Jennifer Mongoven oversees the operations and activities of the research team and functions at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing.  In this role, she focuses on the school-wide research portfolio. She also is the associate director for the Family Caregiving Institute at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing and leads the the programmatic, operational and administrative components of the institute. Previously, she helped launch the Center for Advancing Pain Relief at UC Davis as the administrative director. Mongoven’s earlier experience also includes serving as a senior research manager at the Visiting Nurse Service of New York and Qualidigm, a Connecticut-based Medicare quality-improvement organization. In these positions, she managed diverse health promotion and research projects. Mongoven earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations with a concentration in Political Science from San Jose State University and a Master of Public Health Degree from the University of Massachusetts, Amherst.

She earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology from San Jose State University and a master's degree in Communication Studies with a focus on language and culture from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her master's degree was helpful when she served as a teacher trainer with the United States Peace Corps in the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Cecilia Martino (Sanchez) is a research project manager at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, where she balances both research administration and project management. Martino supports various researchers from pre- to post-award and is also responsible for developing and maintaining the school’s nursing-science-research sponsored grants and contacts portfolio. Previously, Martino served as a project coordinator and data analyst at the UC Davis School of Education, where she managed the recruitment, data collection, analysis and reporting of a project focused on improving the classification system of English-learner students with language-related disabilities. Martino grew up in the Sacramento area and spent several years in Santa Barbara, where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Biological Anthropology.

Lisa Badovinac is the executive director for dissemination for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators. She is responsible for determining opportunities to package and share content with diverse audiences and ensuring the fellowship’s outcomes are available to the public, including educational content, publications and future fellowships. She previously served for more than a decade on the leadership team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis, most recently as the assistant dean for education where she was responsible for providing broad leadership and management of the educational mission for the school, including oversight of outreach, student recruitment, admissions, student records, educational technology, clinical placements, program development, accreditation and evaluation. She was closely involved in the initial 2007 grant proposal that led to the $100 million funding for the School of Nursing and also served as the chief of staff for Founding Dean Heather M. Young. Badovinac earned a master’s degree in adult education and workforce development advocacy from CSU Sacramento and graduated from UC Berkeley with a Bachelor of Arts in Spanish Language and Literature.

Monica Christina Esqueda is the program manager for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators program. Her areas of expertise include higher education leadership, curriculum design, program evaluation, faculty development and education policy. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2020, Esqueda was an education specialist at the UC Davis Center for Educational Effectiveness and the inaugural equity advisor for the Office of Undergraduate Education. In these roles she worked to advance inclusive teaching, and the integration of diversity, equity and inclusion principles across departments and programs. Previously, Esqueda was an assistant professor of higher education and community college leadership at Old Dominion University. She earned a bachelor’s degree in human development from the University of California, San Diego, a Master of Education in educational leadership and policy studies from the University of Washington, and a doctorate in education policy from the University of Southern California.

As project coordinator for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators program, Dan Carter provides high level coordination of events, meeting planning and complex curriculum support. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2020, he served as a development analyst at the UC Davis Office of Development, where he was responsible for coordinating regional donor and alumni events as well as analyzing prospective donor and existing donor data. Before joining UC Davis in 2013, Carter had a long career as a professor of diesel technology at San Joaquin Delta College, partnering with Caterpillar Inc. to train cohorts of technicians in a public-private educational partnership. He has a bachelor’s degree in business administration and a master’s degree in adult education and workforce development.

Megan Hansen is a communications and marketing specialist for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators program. In addition to this role, she also supports the UC Davis Health Center for Health and Technology and the Center for Simulation and Education Enhancement. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2019, she supported the Office of Continuing Medical Education. Previously, Hansen worked on the creative services team for Sutter Health and worked for five years in the news industry as a local government reporter at newspapers along the North Coast. She earned a bachelor’s degree in journalism, with a minor in digital media, from California State University, Sacramento in 2010.

Tasha Staton is a project coordinator for the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators program. She provides high-level coordination of events, meeting planning and complex curriculum support. Staton is also a graphic designer and does layout design for the Japan-based Kyoto Journal. Previously, she worked as a clerkship coordinator at the California Northstate University College of Medicine, where she was responsible for supporting third-year medical students in their clinical rotations. In addition to this role, she also worked as a freelance graphic designer, designing logos, layouts, brochures and other marketing materials for clients. In 2015, Staton earned a bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh – Online Division.

Kristen Venditelli is a project manager supporting the Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators program. She joined UC Davis in 2006 as an administrative assistant with the Department of Emergency Medicine and joined the School of Nursing team in 2017 as an executive project manager supporting the dean’s office. Previously, Venditelli worked as a program manager for the UC Davis Clinical and Translational Science Center, where she was responsible for the day-to-day operations of the KL2 and K12 mentored career development training programs. She assists in data management, data analysis and engaging various partners and stakeholders in research and performance evaluation designed to provide educated and best support to California caregivers. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Bhurtel was the research and data analyst for the regional economic development organization, where she did market, industry and policy research work. Rachael Fulp-Cooke has over twenty years of experience in healthcare and public health. Fulp-Cooke’s professional experience has revolved around research and project management and program development in academic medicine and healthcare consulting. Her prior roles include overseeing the UC Davis Train-the-Trainer: Primary Care Pain Management fellowship, designed to strengthen and optimize the primary care pain management workforce, and serving as the Administrative Director for the Center for Cardiovascular Disease in Women at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and as Director of Community Benefits at Boston Children’s Hospital. Fulp-Cookie is dedicated to addressing health disparities, advancing health equity and fostering healthier communities. She is committed to creating tangible positive changes in the healthcare and public health landscapes. Fulp-Cookie holds a Master’s in Public Health in Health Management and Policy from the University of Michigan and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Tufts University.

Pauline DeLange Martinez supports community engagement, policy and program evaluation within the Family Caregiving Institute. Additionally, she is a doctoral candidate in Public Health Sciences and a fellow with the Healthy Aging in a Digital World Initiative at UC Davis. Martinez is passionate about addressing health disparities, community engagement, capacity building and developing cross-sector partnerships to improve quality of life for older adults and caregivers. She brings a wealth of experience guiding urban and rural counties in developing age- and dementia- friendly initiatives, leading educational initiatives to support caregivers, and supporting and evaluating digital health interventions in partnership with health systems and senior housing providers. She previously taught Gerontology at Oregon State and San Jose State Universities. Her work has been recognized with the 2012 Archstone Foundation Award for Excellence in Program Innovation, the 2018 SCAN Foundation Award for Innovation in Health Care, and the 2021 Mary Louise Remy PEO Endowed Scholar Award. Martinez earned her Master’s Degree in Gerontology from San Francisco State University and her Bachelor’s Degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.

Ana Marin Cachu is the program manager for the health education grants team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. This team is dedicated to implementing a portfolio of health education grants focused on team-based primary care, interprofessional education and a nurse practitioner residency program. In this role, she provides administrative leadership, as well as programmatic and operational oversight. She also plays a crucial role in communicating and collaborating with key internal and external stakeholders. In addition, she is responsible for managing and leading evaluation efforts for all grants, which include data collection, management and reporting. Prior to her role as program manager, she was the evaluation lead for the grants with the primary responsibility for the design and implementation of evaluations, including data collection, evaluation designs, developing instruments, designing and carrying analysis and disseminating results. Before joining the School of Nursing, she worked at Jefferson County Public Health in Colorado as a public health epidemiologist. Marin earned a Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences and a Master of Public Health from UC Davis.

Molly Acton serves as a logistics and operations lead for the health education grants team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. She supports a portfolio of education grants in the areas of general program operations, process planning and implementation, and grant reporting. Prior to joining UC Davis Health in 2020, Acton worked as the administrator and a valuation associate of a real estate appraisal firm specializing in litigation cases. Her professional experience also includes serving as a management consultant with Kurt Salmon Associates, where she assisted health care organizations with large-scale strategic and facility planning projects. Acton also served as the business manager of occupational medicine and the manager of business development and marketing at Camino Healthcare in the South Bay. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Cellular and Molecular Biology from the University of Michigan and a Master of Healthcare Administration from the University of Minnesota.

Kristen Bettega is the lead data analyst supporting evaluation efforts for the health education grants team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. The team supports a, portfolio of grants that focus on team-based primary care, interprofessional education and a nurse practitioner residency program. Since joining the school in 2011 as a research project manager, she has supported multiple research projects focusing on improving quality in nursing homes. Most recently she supported the Family Caregiving Institute, which aims to improve systems of support for the millions of family caregivers in the U.S. She is also an assistant managing editor for Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ)  Patient Safety Network. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, she was a research specialist for a California non-profit organization that helps children in crisis and their families. Bettega earned a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from UC Davis.

Michael Helton is the clinical education manager for the health education grants team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. He oversees the development and implementation of education activities for programs under the health education grant umbrella, which focuses on interprofessional, primary care and public health practice. Learners include health sciences students, medical and nurse practitioner residents, clinic staff and faculty who receive training across a range of learning modalities, including simulation that is conducted both in person and online. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, he served in the U.S. Air Force as a medic and a nurse assigned to various departments, including ambulance services, emergency department, intensive care unit and immunizations. In addition, he worked in the gastrointestinal lab at UC Davis Health. More recently, he worked as a clinical education specialist and developed expertise in planning and implementation of simulations and clinical skills activities for the physician assistant, family nurse practitioner and entry-level nursing programs at the School of Nursing. His work experience includes direct patient care, as well as participation and management of a variety of clinical operations projects. Helton earned both a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree in Health Care Administration from Ashford University.

Jonathan Kwan is an education analyst for the health education grants team at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. He provides education development support and assists with coordinating operations for educational programs, events and projects to communicate with learners and supporting the activities. In addition, he works as a data analyst providing support with data management and evaluation. Prior to joining UC Davis Health, Kwan worked as an operation manager and administrative support varying from food service to higher education. His professional experience revolves around community health and nutrition education with expressed interest in addressing health and health care disparities, environmental health, and food security and safety. Kwan earned a Bachelor of Science in Family and Consumers Science with a concentration in Food and Nutrition from California State University, Sacramento and a Master of Public Health degree with a concentration in Health Policy Leadership from the University of San Francisco.

Cindy Wilson is the clinical nurse educator for the health education grants team’s Public Health Nursing — Empowering Nurses, Teaching Rural care Using Simulation Training (PHN-ENTRUST) project. This grant is designed to strengthen the public health nursing workforce by building interest, capacity and skill in public health nursing competencies among prelicensure nursing students at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Prior to joining the School of Nursing, Wilson worked at the Nevada County Public Health Department as the director of nursing, the maternal-child adolescent health coordinator and a maternal-child home visiting public health nurse. She also has experience as an acute care registered nurse in labor and delivery as well as intensive care. In addition, she served with an international agency in Sub-Saharan Africa for about 20 years. Wilson earned an Associate Degree in Nursing from Samford University, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree from Pacific Union College  and a Master of Science in Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership from the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis.

Jasmine Cuellar serves as the Community Education Specialist at the Perinatal Origins of Disparities (POD) Center. She has worked on the ACEs Aware Yolo County Trauma-informed Network of Care project and supports the POD Center with coordination efforts. Prior to joining UC Davis, Cuellar worked with various non-profit organizations providing health care services to underserved populations at both the national and state level. Her interests include reducing health disparities, advocating for health equity and the destigmatization of mental health. Cuellar earned her bachelor’s degree in Health Sciences from California State University, Chico and received her Master of Public Health degree from California State University, Sacramento.

Jen Phipps is biomedical engineer and Associate Project Scientist with the Perinatal Origins of Disparities Center at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Her interests include how imaging and data science play a role in improved prevention of chronic diseases across the lifespan, especially for historically marginalized communities, as well as promoting cardiovascular health in women. Phipps received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering from UC Davis and completed an American Heart Association Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Texas Health San Antonio in the Division of Cardiology.

Paige Gilliland is a Graduate Student Researcher at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. She works on various research projects with Leigh Ann Simmons in the Health Equity Across the Lifespan (HEAL) lab. As director for strategic communications, Rebecca Badeaux provides vision, direction and leadership in developing high visibility communications strategies at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Badeaux creates integrated media programs to connect on an emotional level, envisioning the brand through written pieces and video components. Prior to joining the School of Nursing in 2014 as the school’s writer, Badeaux served as chief strategist for Chase Rainer Media, where she handled company positioning strategy, strategic planning, media training, story placement, crisis management, community relations and issues management for the agency’s clients. Previous to her 10 years at Chase Rainer Media, Badeaux spent more than a decade in the trenches of television newsrooms both as a news anchor and medical reporter. She received a Master of Science in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois. She also earned a bachelor’s degree from Duke University in Durham, N.C.

Her passion for marketing lies in creative, collaborative and comprehensive solutions that engage audiences and make a difference for both communities and individuals. Sholty formerly served as digital marketing manager with ScribeAmerica, a national scribe services and health tech firm, where she developed and implemented company-wide strategic marketing initiatives, as well as managing company-wide branding, website development and digital media advertising. Her previous work includes marketing and communications roles with California School Boards Association, California State University, Sacramento and Wayne State University in Detroit, Mich. Sholty has served in leadership roles with the Sacramento chapter of the American Marketing Association since 2022. She received an M.B.A .with a concentration in Global Business and Entrepreneurship from California State University, Sacramento, and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Mich.
