Faculty from across campus with expertise in nursing, medicine, health informatics, nutrition, biostatistics, public health and other fields conduct their biannual meeting to discuss admissions, curriculum, program development and more related to leading the interprofessional graduate group.
May 17: DNP-FNP Academic Symposium

June 25-30: Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators Convocation 2025
The Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators leads its annual Convocation in Washington D.C. The program’s cornerstone event focuses on building community among the cohorts and fostering connection among fellows, faculty, the national program office and the Fellowship National Advisory Council. Fellows explore contemporary issues in health care and population health and participate in structured learning activities focused on leadership, innovation and networking.

Aug. 26: Breaking Down Barriers: A Pre-Nursing Conference
Representatives from the school’s Master’s Entry Program in Nursing will be at this event promoting the nursing profession in Black and Latinx communities. The event is hosted by the Capitol City Black Nurses Association, the Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, the Philippine Nurses Association California Capitol City and the Hmong Nurses Association Sacramento Chapter.

End of Sep. (TBD): Immersion A for the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner Program
Students in the Doctor or Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner (DNP-FNP) Degree Program participate in an intensive, five-day on-campus immersion. This immersion experience, course NRS 305YA, exposes them to underserved populations and the challenges faced by these individuals and families. Throughout the experience, students continue to build on the foundation of relationships with fellow students and faculty, in addition to participating in class sessions.
