The Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators is a three-year fellowship program developing the next generation of nurse leaders and innovators. Applications for the 2024 cohort open Sept. 22 and close at 5 p.m. PST Dec. 1. See how to apply
Sep. 25-26: Orientation for Doctor of Philosophy Program
Incoming Doctor of Philosophy students participate in an intensive, two-day orientation to build the foundation of relationships with fellow students and faculty.
Sept. 25: First day of fall quarter
Sep. 27-Oct. 2: Immersion A for the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner Program
Students in the Doctor or Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner (D.N.P.-F.N.P.) Degree Program participate in an intensive, five-day on-campus immersion. This immersion experience, course NRS 305YA, exposes them to underserved populations and the challenges faced by these individuals and families. Throughout the experience, students continue to build on the foundation of relationships with fellow students and faculty, in addition to participating in class sessions.

This two-week long program provides about 50 Sacramento high school students exposure to the nursing profession as they explore various health professions pathways and how to succeed in their academic aspirations.
July 12-20: Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators Convocation 2022
The Betty Irene Moore Fellowship for Nurse Leaders and Innovators leads its annual Convocation. The program’s cornerstone event focuses on building community among the cohorts and fostering connection among fellows, faculty, the national program office and the Fellowship National Advisory Council. Fellows explore contemporary issues in health care and population health and participate in structured learning activities focused on leadership, innovation and networking.

Aug: 19: Breaking Down Barriers: A Pre-Nursing Conference
Representatives from the school’s Master’s Entry Program in Nursing will be at this event promoting the nursing profession in Black and Latinx communities. The event is hosted by the Capitol City Black Nurses Association, the Sacramento Chapter of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses, the Philippine Nurses Association California Capitol City and the Hmong Nurses Association Sacramento Chapter.

The P.A. Class of 2023 concludes the 27-month graduate-degree program and marks the transition into practice with the recitation of the Physician Assistant Oath.

May 18: Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Graduate Group meeting
Faculty from across campus with expertise in nursing, medicine, health informatics, nutrition, biostatistics, public health and other fields conduct their biannual meeting to discuss admissions, curriculum, program development and more related to leading the interprofessional graduate group.

This informational webinar provides new or soon-to-graduate nurse practitioners an opportunity to learn more about the 12-month residency program, including how a residency program can accelerate your development as a provider and what to expect during this experience. Jan. 15: Application deadline for prospective 2023 doctoral students
Jan. 15 is the application deadline for prospective students to apply for summer 2023 entrance to the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Family Nurse Practitioner Degree Program and fall 2023 entrance to the Doctor of Philosophy Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Degree Program. Interested applicants must apply online through UC Davis Graduate Studies.

Feb. 15-16: Community Action Poverty Simulation
Three sessions of the Community Action Poverty Simulation are offered to Master’s Entry Program in Nursing and UC Davis School of Medicine students. Through the four-hour exercises, students assume the roles of members of several families and work through a variety of challenging social, economic and health care circumstances typical of today.
