In alignment with principles of fair admissions and state and federal laws, the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing UC Davis is committed to building and sustaining a robust and capable academic community of faculty, staff and students while assuring that access to education and preparation for academic and/or clinical work is open to learners from all segments of society. The Nursing Science and Health-Care Leadership Admissions Committee acknowledges a particular responsibility to serve all people and communities within the region.

Faculty and leaders are committed to building and sustaining an academic community in which teachers, researchers and learners achieve the knowledge, skills and attitudes that appreciate and embrace the value of all people and community partnerships to unleash the creativity and innovation needed to advance health and optimize health care access for all.

In support of the overall mission and vision of the school, the admissions committee seeks to attract and admit students with varied perspectives and the potential for clinical excellence, advanced leadership or transformative research in an interprofessional environment.

The committee is dedicated to a comprehensive admissions process that considers the experiences, attributes and academic metrics of each applicant and recognizes their unique potential as a future clinician, leader or researcher. The goal is to admit cohorts of students for each program, whose interests are compatible with the vision of the school to leverage the university’s strengths in interdisciplinary learning, innovative technology, state-of-the-art evidence-based practice and transformative leadership.
