Associate Professor

Bryan Tune is an associate professor in the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. As a dual board-certified CRNA and FNP, Tune provides clinical practice mentorship to nurse anesthesia students and family nurse practitioner students. The focus of his clinical teaching in anesthesia specialty is regional anesthesia, opioid reduced anesthesia and the business aspects of nurse anesthesia. His clinical focus in the nurse practitioner specialty includes street medicine, border health, HIV and Hepatitis-C care for vulnerable populations.

Prior to joining the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing faculty, Tune was a tenured associate professor at California State University, Fresno, where he taught in the masters and doctoral programs. Tune also served as a founding nurse anesthesiology program director for eleven years. Tune has twenty years of clinical practice experience in anesthesia, serving in senior leadership roles and mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers.

Tune received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Fresno, his Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesiology from Midwestern University, doctoral degrees from Arizona State University, and a post-masters certificate as a Family Nurse Practitioner. He serves on the editorial board for the Student Journal of Nurse Anesthesia and presents his scholarship as an invited speaker at the regional, state, national and international levels. Tune is active in the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology, serving on executive leadership committees and task force, as well as the Association of Nurse Anesthetists, serving on the board of directors. Tune is also an active member of the International Street Medicine Institute.
