Jacie Touart, D.M.S.c., P.A.-C.
Associate Clinical Professor
Jacie Touart is a certified physician assistant and associate clinical professor for the Master of Health Services-Physician Assistant Studies in the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing. Touart has over 20 years experience as a PA in pain medicine. Her interest in PA education began 15 years ago when she started precepting students from various PA programs.
In 2016, Touart made the move to full time academia and specialized in pain management and mental and behavioral health. During this time, she continued to work clinically part time providing pain management consulting at Adventist Health primary care clinics. Prior to her appointment at UC Davis, Touart was an associate clinical professor for the PA program at the University of the Pacific. Touart held a variety of roles at the Pacific, including clinical coordinator, admissions director, didactic coordinator and most recently as director of academic and student affairs. She also served as the Instructor of Record for the Clinical Skills and Behavioral Sciences series.
Touart earned her bachelor's degree in Health Sciences and master's degree in Physician Assistant studies from Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Pa. She received her Doctor of Medical Science degree from Rocky Mountain University of Health Sciences in Provo, Utah. She is a member of several professional associations, including the Physician Assistant Education Association, American Academy of Physician Assistants, California Academy of Physician Assistants and the Pain Medicine Academy of Advanced Practice Providers.
