Rebecca Gibson, M.M.S., P.A.-C.
Assistant Clinical Professor
Rebecca Gibson is a physician assistant and assistant clinical professor at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis.
Her health care career began in 2002 working as a certified nursing assistant. Until 2016, Gibson worked in hospital internal medicine at Mayo Clinic Arizona where developed a passion for education and research. She has also served in a variety of community settings and underserved areas, including as a cardiology physician assistant in Chico, Calif. She joined UC Davis to continue her passion for education and research.
Gibson’s areas of interest include educating and mentoring the next generation of physician assistants in the areas of evidence-based medicine and patient-centered care. She has volunteered with both local and international underserved communities, including Feed My Starving Children, a non-profit organization in Mesa, Ariz., and on a mission trip to Haiti. She has participated in lectures for general cardiology topics and shock for both Chico State and Butte College, also in Chico.
Gibson graduated from Arcadia University with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, followed by a Master of Medical Science as a physician assistant. She has been published in the Journal of the American Academy of Physician Assistants and Journal of Hospital Medicine.
