Assistant Director for the Doctor of Nursing Practice — Nurse Anesthesia Degree Program

Terence Burrows Terence Burrows is the Assistant Director of the DNP-Nurse Anesthesia Program at Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. With 19 years of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA), educator and Program administrator, Burrows brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to clinical, academic and leadership roles. He has made significant contributions to anesthesia care and education demonstrating his commitment to excellence in nursing and anesthesia practice.

Burrows has been actively involved in professional organizations and has served on the Board of Directors for the California Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Throughout his civilian and military career, he has had extensive experience and education in anesthesia care for the trauma patient including attending the Army Trauma Training Center at Ryder Trauma Center in Miami, Fla. on three occasions.

Burrows worked in multiple intensive care units in London, UK and multiple states through the U.S. In 2000 he worked as a critical cale transport RN, delivering care in helicopters, fixed wing aircrafts and ground ambulances, before enrolling in anesthesia school. Following graduation, Burrows has practiced at Kaiser Permanente, Community Regional Medical Center, UC San Francisco, Greater Anesthesia Solutions and UC San Diego. He has also served as Program Director for the Midwestern University Nurse Anesthesia Program and as Assistant Program Director for the National University Nurse Anesthesia Program. He was commissioned into the US Army Reserve in 2003 and continues to serve in the rank of Colonel.

Burrows holds a Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice with a concentration in Education and Program Administration from Texas Wesleyan University, a Master of Science in Nursing from California State University, Fullerton, a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Excelsior College and a Diploma in Nursing from the University of Northumbria in Newcastle-Upon-Tyne, United Kingdom. Burrows has presented at the annual conference of the American Association of Nurse Anesthesiology (AANA) and has been published in the Journal of Nursing Research and Practice.
