Satvinder Ark, M.S.N., F.N.P., R.N.
Satvinder Ark is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Ark earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Chamberlain University and graduated from Sonoma State University with a Master of Science as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Ark has worked in both inpatient and outpatient settings for more than a decade She has also worked as a medical-surgical registered nurse, providing patient care, demonstrating leadership and precepting new registered nurses. Ark is currently a nursing and psychiatric clinical educator for Yuba Community College educating in the community with excellent knowledge, strong skills and very passion for education. She is fluent in Punjabi and shares her expertise in finance and overall well-being with the community.
Stephanie Borges, M.S,N., C.C.R.N.
Stephanie Borges is a nurse faculty resident at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. She is an AACN Certified Critical Care Nurse with nine years of experience in the Liver Transplant Intensive Care Unit at UCLA Health. During her time in the ICU, Borges served as both a preceptor and a clinical instructor, experiences that deepened her passion for nursing education.
Borges earned a Master of Science in Nursing degree from the UCLA School of Nursing and holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Nutritional Science and Integrative Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. Before pursuing nursing, she worked as a nutritionist in primary care and as an academic mentor for student-athletes. She is committed to fostering a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
Jessa Joy Gombio, M.S.N., R.N., A.M.B.-B.C.
Jessa Joy Gombio is a nurse faculty resident at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Gombio brings over six years of experience across a range of clinical environments, including labor & delivery, urgent care and OB/GYN clinics. Most of her work has been in OB/GYN, where she has had the meaningful opportunity to advocate for women’s reproductive health and wellness. She is passionate about empowering women to make informed choices about their bodies and health, while building nurse-patient relationships rooted in trust and mutual respect.
Gombio’s varied clinical experiences have deeply influenced her commitment to fostering supportive, inclusive, and student-centered learning environments. She strives to ensure that students feel seen, heard and encouraged to engage openly. She is especially driven to serve in underserved areas because she believes equitable healthcare starts with equal access to quality nursing education. Gombio earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Roseman University and is completing her final year of the Family Nurse Practitioner program at Sonoma State University.
Lillian Hawthorne, M.S.N., R.N.
Lillian Hawthorne is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Hawthorne earned her Master of Science in Nursing from Walden University and her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. With over 25 years of dedicated service in the nursing profession, she is a highly skilled and versatile registered nurse recognized for clinical excellence, leadership, and a deep commitment to patient care. Throughout her career, she has delivered expert-level nursing in some of the most critical care environments, including the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU), Neuroscience Intensive Care Unit (Neuro ICU), Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU), Cardiac Catheterization Lab, and Electrophysiology (EP) Lab.
Hawthorne’s extensive bedside experience is complemented by a strong leadership background, having held key administrative roles such as Director of Clinical Education and Interim Assistant Privacy Officer. In these capacities, she has led initiatives to improve clinical competency, uphold regulatory compliance and enhance patient privacy protocols across healthcare systems.
Sally Pham, M.S.N., F.N.P.-B.C.
Sally Pham is a nurse faculty resident at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Pham graduated from the University of California, Los Angeles with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Master of Science in Nursing. With over 25 years of experience as a nurse practitioner, Pham has invaluable experience across various settings, including private and academic health systems. For the past decade, she has honed her expertise in neurology, specializing in memory care.
In her current role, Sally serves as the quality liaison and is a member of the Nursing Practitioner Advisory Committee (NPAC) with the California Board of Nursing. Her passion for patient care, commitment to quality processes, and dedication to education drive her mission as an educator. Pham is determined to equip all students with the essential tools and opportunities they need to thrive in their future careers.
Jennifer Robb, M.S.N., R.N.
Jennifer Robb is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Robb is masters-prepared registered nurse with over 17 years of clinical experience. She has dedicated 15 years of her career caring for burn patients in the Bothin Burn Center at Saint Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco. In her role as a burn nurse, she developed expertise in managing complex patient care and supported patients and their families through various stages of burn injury.
Robb earned her Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science from Humboldt State University but changed course to pursue a career in nursing. She earned her Master of Science in Nursing from San Francisco State University. Through new pursuits, she is honoring her commitment to learning, education and mentorship of future nurses. Robb’s clinical and research interests include medical surgical nursing, geriatrics, palliative care, public health and quality of care improvement strategies.
Tina Marie Schaff, R.N., P.H.N.
Tina Schaff is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Schaff is a public health nurse with over eight years of combined nursing experience in oncology and public health nursing. She graduated with her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is currently enrolled in a Master of Science in Nursing program at Arizona State University. Prior to her nursing education, Schaff earned a Bachelor of Arts in Global Studies from Arizona State University and worked in international education both in the U.S. and overseas.
Schaff started her nursing career in oncology, completing her new graduate nurse residency on a hematology oncology unit at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Phoenix, Arizona. She has also worked as a public health nurse in Belgium. She transitioned to public health nursing due to her interest in disease prevention, health education and addressing health disparities. She is passionate about nursing education and increasing awareness of the varied opportunities available in public health.
Barinder Singh, R.N., B.S.N., P.H.N.
Barinder Singh is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Singh has more than ten years of experience in psychiatric, correctional and community health nursing. He has held leadership positions as Administrator and Director of Patient Care Services in psychiatric healthcare facilities, where he managed facilities and ensured compliance with state and national standards of care. He also has extensive experience mentoring and teaching nursing students as a clinical instructor at Yuba Community College and Butte College.
Singh earned his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from California State University, Chico, and is currently pursuing his Master of Science in Nursing in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program at Walden University. His clinical and research interests include youth behavioral health, correctional psychiatry, trauma-informed care and advancing mental health access in underserved communities. Singh is fluent in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and is committed to combining education, leadership and clinical practice to improve mental health outcomes.
Ana Weidenfeld, M.S.N., F.N.P., R.N.
Ana Weidenfeld is a nurse faculty resident with the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. Ana is a public health nurse, registered nurse, and family nurse practitioner. She has worked in primary care, public health, community health and college health. She currently serves in a clinical role in a college health center.
Ana earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree from Samuel Merritt University and her Master of Science in Nursing, FNP degree, from UC Davis. Ana’s clinical interests include preventive care, health education and clinical decision-making.
