Although each school provides different requirements and course offerings, below are examples of courses from a variety of schools throughout CA that fulfill the prerequisites for the MHS – Physician Assistant program at the Betty Irene Moore School of Nursing at UC Davis. 

All prerequisites are required at the college level from an accredited school and must be completed prior to submitting your application. 

Each prerequisite is expected to be one full course, either a quarter or a semester, and a minimum of three units with a letter grade of C or higher.

Additional information regarding prerequisites:   

  • All science prerequisites must have a lab
  • Introduction to Organic Chemistry with lab does not fulfill this requirement
  • Anatomy with lab and Physiology with lab must be completed within the last 5 years of submitting an application
  • AP credit, Pass or Satisfactory grades are not accepted
  • StraighterLine or Coursera courses are not accepted
  • Common subjects that do not suffice for the social science prerequisites: history, humanities, religion, foreign language  
  • Literature, Poetry, fictional writing, seminar courses do not suffice for the English composition prerequisite
  • Online courses that meet prerequisite criteria and from an accredited institution are accepted
